These are rapt faces of Bombay women - many of them in Purdah (ritual seclusion)- viewing their first filmstrip show. Mrs K.Sayani, Vice-President of the Bombay Committee, is observing the group from the back of the room (left). Filmstrips shown every day to adults in the Social Education classes. Subjects include health and hygiene, peoples of different lands, home economics and general knowledge. After each showing, the projectionist leads group discussion on the topic of the day.
